Child Illness:

In order to protect the health of the all children in our care, children exhibiting any of the following symptoms should be kept home. In addition, we will call you and request that you pick up your child within one hour if he or she shows any of the following symptoms while in attendance:

  • Fever over 100.9 degrees
  • Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
  • Rash or skin lesions which have not been diagnosed or treated by a licensed health care practitioner
  • Persistent complaints of throat, ear or stomach pain with or without fever
  • Uncontrolled bleeding (other than minor cuts and scrapes)

  • Untreated Head Lice
  • Unusual or extreme fatigue or lethargy
  • Any illness impairing or prohibiting the child's participation in regular activities
  • Any illness or injury requiring more care than we are able to provide without compromising the health and safety of the ill or injured child or the other children in my care

If your child needs to be absent due to illness, please contact us via ProCare with the nature of the illness and how long you anticipate your child will be absent, so we will not be expecting your child and can warn other families of potential exposure. In the event that your child is kept home or sent home with any of the above symptoms or conditions, he or she will not be allowed to return until they have been symptom free for a full 24 hours. When any child has symptoms of or is known to have a communicable disease, we are required to contact the bureau of disease control and prevention for instructions regarding whether the ill child is required to be excluded from the program.

**Please note: All provisions above will be superseded by any state or federal law, requirement, or guidelines.

Administration of Medicines:

All staff are required to be certified to administer medication to your child, however, since we are not licensed medical professionals, we are not permitted to administer any type of medication, including prescription and over the counter medicines, without a signed consent form.
